This is great ladies!  Thank you for sharing your applications and samples.  I was wondering how and where to begin to create one for my chapter's scholarship funds.  This will be our first year in using the funds for a chapter member to sit for their CPS/CAP examination.  You guys ROCK!

Good afternoon!

I have read a lot of posts where chapters have awarded scholarships for those taking CPS/CAP exams. Have any chapters awarded scholarships to attend Division Annual Meetings or EFAM? I'd be interested to know what criteria you used to determine a winner, how you arrived at the dollar amount of the award and other relevant information.

I will be 2010-2011 scholarship chair for the Illinois Division and we are changing the focus of our scholarship to enable more people to attend our ID annual meeting and EFAM. Any help or advice would certainly be appreciated.

Thank you.

We provide two scholarships (value up to $125) for those taking the CPS or CAP exam within our chapter either in May or November.  We feel helping our members accomplish this is very beneficial.  The Scholarship Committee reviews the applications and selects the two we think best should receive the scholarship.  Even those retaking the test can apply; if selected they can't receive more than the exam cost.  I am attaching the application we use.

We also have study groups that meet on a weekly basis for four (4) months prior to the exam.  This has helped tremendously with the pass ratio.

I am attaching the application we use

April,

That is great that you are helping your chapter members by offering scholarships to help pay for their CPS and/or CAP exam.  I have heard that there are other chapters that do the same thing, but the Evansville Chapter has not done that this far.  We only offer at least 1 $1,000 scholarship to a high school or college student who will be or are already persuing a degree in a business field.

Attached is the Interview Questions and Impression of Applicant file that we use when we interview our scholarship applicants.

We do not limit what college they attend as long as they are majoring in the Business Field nor do we limit their GPA.
